Kensington Folio Case for iPad 1 Only K39296US - Black

Kensington Folio Case for iPad 1 Only K39296US - Black
  • Durable synthetic leather cover protects your iPad in style
  • Provides full access to all iPad controls and 30-pin connector
  • Padded interior delivers ultra-thin cushioning
  • Adjustable stand securely holds your iPad in landscape mode and offers multiple viewing positions
  • Magnet-free folio case ensures uninterrupted operation of the iPad's digital compass

Bought this case hoping it would serve my needs of both a safe case/folio and a proper stand. It failed on both fronts. First, there is no mechanism of closing the case, the cover just flaps open and becomes very difficult to keep closed. Also, the small plastic ridged area on the back is absolutely useless as the back flap simply slides across the plastic and cannot hold up the iPad (it would've been better just leaving the leather). It's shocking how ineffective this is. Doesn't anyone test these products? Also, this back flap that is supposed to be used as a stand looks like a weird tumorous appendage just stuck to the back. There is a reason that there are no pictures if it. It just looks bizarre. In short, don't buy this case if you want a)to protect your iPad or b)to have it serve as a stand.

The only positive is that the leather does feel pretty good.

In my view, this is an excellent iPad case at an excellent price. Is it perfect? Not at all; but it is a great value for the price.

It's made of a leather-like material that actually feels very much like leather. Kensington has been making quality computer accessories for decades, and this case measures up to their general standards. Unlike another reviewer, I found the groves-and-tab stand that forms when you flip the cover back to be very workable. It holds my iPad at the angle I want, and it doesn't slip or flop around. It may look a little odd, but so what? It works. The inner side of the cover has a business card/ID window, some business card-sized slots, and a larger flap to hold a few sheets of paper. I haven't had it long enough to judge its durability, but it seems pretty substantial.

When I bought my iPad, I made the mistake of ordering the "official" Apple case for it. Sure enough, it fits perfectly, and it's very durable and protective. However, it's made of some kind of suede-feeling rubberish stuff, which seems magnetic to dirt and lint. I think this Kensington case is far superior to the Apple case, and it even costs about 40% less.

My bottom line: This is a stylish, functional case. If I had to buy another case today, I'd order this one again.

This is an excellent product for the price. It is sturdy and fits the IPAD perfectly. There is a stand on the back so you can use the IPAD on a desk without holding it in your lap. My brother recommended this to me and, after reviewing other options on the web, this seemed to be the best choice...not cheaply made but not expensive, either.

This is a nice protective case for the Ipad 1. I was very picky when researching these leather-style cases for the Ipad because I did not want any sort of magnetized snap or buckle. I didn't want any of the magnet interfering with any sort of frequencies or anything. I'm not sure if that's a founded concern or not, but I wasn't taking any chances!

Product is decently made and serves it's purpose. Fits well and met my expectations. It does stand up well...in fact I don't even use the little flap that's supposed to support it. I just stand it up like a tent and don't need to use the supporter.

Good buy.

Looks like real leather and get compliments from co-workers. Like how the back piece has a wide range of angle choices. Did smell when first opened (not real leather) but fine now. Also, has business card holders and paper holder in front flap.
