The original stylus broke apart at the top where the metal shaft meets the plastic. I ordered this replacement and it also broke soon after I began using it. Perhaps I'm too heavy-handed? The problem seems to be the weakness of the plastic piece. I then used a small drill bit and reamed out the plastic in the metal shaft and drilled a small hole in the plastic top. I measured and cut a short straight piece out of a metal clothes hanger and glued it into the shaft and top piece. This fix is working well.
