This case is really ideal for anyone trying to be discreet with their MacBook Air. It was bought for my wife who is a High School teacher. As you can imagine, a Macbook Air could easily grow feet and "walk away" on its own in a HS environment. She keeps the laptop in this case/portfolio in her school bag and NOBODY would ever guess what is inside. It looks like just another manilla envelope except it is red so if she forgets to put it away when she gets to her classroom or steps away from it for a little while, it will not attract attention.

These things are not bad. Some reviewers have criticized the fact that it would not protect your laptop from a drop but I think that is such a ridiculous comment to make. One look at this photo and right away you should realize its not meant for that. Clearly this is for protecting the surface and also for "disguising" your laptop so nobody suspects it's an expensive laptop laying around. My MacBook air 13 inch, the newest model, fits nicely inside. Not to large although there's some good breather room in there. Keeps my laptop out of the sun and dust. Also protects the surface when I slip it into a bag when traveling.

The only thing I was not happy with was that there was some weird dry black stuff inside only about an inch long which I had to scrape off so it doesn't scratch the laptop, it did come off and I purchased two of these, the other had no problem at all. The string is a bit annoying since it already Velcro shuts but I suppose it's added effect for the whole hide your laptop thing.

Over all I'm pleased. This is what I suspected the product was for, and it is doing the job well.

It does the job, it looks sleek and you wouldn't guess there's a laptop inside. The red buttons you tie the string around are kind of tacky, as is the string, but otherwise it's neat. I just put up with it and enjoy the inexpensive laptop protection!
