Microsoft Right-Handed Comfort Mouse 6000 for Business - White

Microsoft Right-Handed Comfort Mouse 6000 for Business - White
  • Right-handed control - Your right hand will shift your laptop into high gear.
  • Five customizable buttons - Do more and get it done faster.
  • BlueTrack Technology - Works on virtually any surface, from the hood of a car, carpets, to park benches.
  • Detent scroll wheel - Effortless comfort and accuracy.

Bought this as a replacement for a Microsoft Basic Optical mouse, which only has 3 buttons instead of the 5 I'm used to with my other computer's Microsoft IntelliMouse. Long story short, the Comfort Mouse 6000 was a bit less expensive yet came with 5 buttons and a superior tracking system so I gave it a try.

I have to rate this mouse as just "adequate." I have big hands but find the mouse body almost too large and ergonomically lacking to comfortably rest my hand in best position to operate controls. The left button action is rough and unless you press directly down on it, seems to stick a bit. I also find buttons 4 & 5, both on the left side of the mouse body are almost too small and not prominent enough to be worked without thinking about them. I'll keep this mouse as it is used on a secondary computer in my house but I'd tell others to shop around before making a similar purchase.

I got this mouse because of the detented scroll wheel (I can click with the scroll wheel and not have it scroll at the same time). Not a fan of corded mice, but this one is great. It fits like the MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 from 2004 or so big and tall enough that my hand rests comfortably on it. It's rather light, the plastic doesn't feel cheap, and the tracking is really good. I like the two thumb buttons (forward/backward for browsers). The teflon guide/feet are very smooth, and it glides very quietly and smoothly on my desk unlike the apple magic mouse I was using (sounds like sandpaper, physical scrolling of mouse comes to a really hard stop). I got two by accident, but I'm keeping them now!

This is listed as the replacement for the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical Mouse, but it is not.

The Intellimouse Optical is an ambidextrous design, but this mouse only works well for right-handed people.

Replacing a microsoft intellimouse explorer . I've used the explorer series for about 10 yrs . About the only thing I didn't

like was it doesn't have left / right tilt on the mouse wheel . Feels good , took me a day or two before I got used to it .

would buy again ! Better price than local Staples store had !

Sad but true, these extra buttons aren't working for me on 64bit Windows 7 but this mouse works great on 32bit Windows. A good replacement to the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0.
