rooCASE Dual Station Premium Leather (Magenta) Case Cover with Stand for Apple iPad 2 / iPad 3 / The

rooCASE Dual Station Premium Leather Case Cover with Stand for Apple iPad 2 / iPad 3 / The new iPadI pre-ordered this case to arrive just days before my new iPad 2, and it was here in plenty of time. I have bought from this seller before, and will definitely buy from them again. Overall I am very satisfied with this case. Before I begin I will start off by describing the way I use my iPad 2, as how you use your iPad 2 will play a big role in the type of case you will need. I am a busy college student who works with autistic children in their home. I wanted my iPad to be something that could replace my aging back-breaking laptop, this meant my case had to be tough enough to be thrown in a bag with binders and text books (or against a wall by an autistic child), and have a stable typing angle for when I am taking notes or typing a paper. Additionally it had to look great for a fashion conscious apple fan-girl. So here is my run down.

The Pro's

-High quality material a bit stiff at first, but so is all genuine leather

-Very protective my iPad has been knocked around in week I have had it, and you wouldn't know it by looking at the iPad

-The case is highly resilient to damage itself, despite being knocked around it looks brand new, not a dent on it

-The typing angle is very comfortable, though nothing is as comfortable as using a bluetooth keyboard

-The case fold's flat which is nice for reading in the vertical orientation

The Con's

-Because of the shape of the iPad 2 the volume button, and mute/orientation lock is angled slightly towards the back, so in a portfolio case such as this it is hard to access these controls but I do not believe this to be specific to this portfolio case.

-It's a little on the bulky side which makes it hard to see the sleek and thin design of the iPad 2 (mind you anything that is reasonably protective will be on the bulky side)

The final verdict:

I would buy this case again because it suits my busy life style, can hold up to my abuse, and the abuse of autistic children. And it looks and functions great. Would love it if roocase made a matching case for the bluetooth apple keyboard to go with.

I received this case as a birthday gift, when it arrived it was the wrong case. The case that actually came in was the Convertible Leather case for an Ipad2. I contacted Amazon as I could not just print a shipping label and return it. After 30 minutes on the phone they finally agreed to send me another one with one day shipping from a retailer that was fulfilled by Amazon if I paid with my own money. They would process a refund once it shipped. No refund was processed yesterday or today so that didn't happen. The customer service represenative placed it in my cart himself. Case arrives today, it's still from the same retailer and it's still the wrong case. On the back of the plastic that covers the case is a sku number for the right item, but the wrong case is in the packaging. I tried to make it work, I have the new iPad and the case does not put the iPad to sleep, nor does it fit correctly as it covers part of the camera and I have to shift it off center to use it without seeing the color pink on my photos. I'm incredibly frustrated at this point. I spent my own money trying to get this case in addition to receiving as a gift and was unable to make it happen either way. Now I have spent over an hour of my time on the phone with Amazon trying to to get the situation corrected and it still hasn't happened. The customer service represenatives solution today was to refund my money (which should have already happened) and that I didn't have to return the item, I could just dispose of it. Really?! What a waste. Just because I can't use the case Amazon can give me my money back but they want me to just throw the case away? That's awesome ethics. But if I agree to that they'll give me a $5 promo credit. Incredibly disappointed in the customer service. We shouldn't have to spend our own time making a situation rightand my time is certainly worth more than $5.

This case is well constructed and covers the ipad2 quite well. However, the stand slips frequently and does not always stay in position. I will be returning this case.

This case definitely gives better protection than the Smart Cover! It is a good buy given the price.

Pros:

Very good quality, nice leather

no annoying smell (This really good!)

lovely color

magnetic closure works perfect, just as the Smart cover

Cons:

Not as stable as the Smart cover when you use it as a stand, you need to adjust it more accurately then you'll be fine.

a little heavy (especially comparing to the Smart cover), it is mainly because of the thickness of the leather. Well, it is the price to take if you want to protect your iPad more.

Overall, a good buy.

This case is very good looking AND pretty sturdy. I love how it makes it look like a book! The magnetic close off feature is great. I have an iPad 2.

However, I do wish that I had went ahead and purchased another model in the case series. This one does a great job of holding itself up when you use landscape mode laying down. When I switch to landscape mode sitting up (as the picture shows) it tends to fall backwards on itself. It seems to have gotten worse with that over the 5 months or so since I've owned it.

Absolutely beautiful, can't find a product this nice locally, but a few minor flaws that bring down the star rating on this pad for me.
