Had a devil of a time finding a dual hi-power USB charger for charging two Android tablets at the same time. I've got two Archos G9 tablets which need at least 1.5A for fast charging. I took a chance with this product as each port pumps out 2.1A each. When I got it, I plugged in my USB cables and....uh-oh all I got was slow charge.

Turns out, in order for the tablet to "negotiate" full charging it must "sense" that there is no data flow from the tablet to the charging station. Most of your tablet chargers do this by shorting out the data pins in the charger itself to "convince" the tablet that it take a full amp charge. Apple doesn't do/need this, so when plugging in a standard USB data/charge cable, the tablet believes it's being plugged into a PC and will only allow slow charging (around 100-500mA).

I got around this by purchasing "charge only" USB data cables (search Amazon and you'll find them). These cables have the data pins in the cable itself shorted out and therefore cannot be used to transfer data, only charge. Once I got these and plugged them in, BINGO, FAST CHARGING!!

So, this product, using "charge only" USB cables, works wonderfully with Android tablets as well.

One of the disappointing features after owning the original iPad, which charged up quickly, is that the New iPad 3 was a power hog and its battery demanded more power to charge up properly and quickly. Have you had that problem?

After searching for the past six months and going through at least a half dozen or more iPad chargers, I have finally found a charger that will fully charge up my iPad 3 in record time. Most chargers were taking up to 5 to 6 hours which was a big hassle waiting. In fact, with 2 USB ports to charge 2 iPads and 2.1 amp rating for each port, the unit is powerful enough to charge the units in about 2 hours. A little expensive compared to other units I have bought but well worth the cost, in my opinion, since it works. I now own 4 of these units which I've spread throughout my house and at my office. And the long 6 foot charging cord is the right length for most of my iPad applications, like reading in bed or reclining in my La-Z-Boy. One note: the unit comes with only one cord--not a problem for me since I have lots of extra cords from other units I have bought. I highly recommend it.

Using w iPhones 4S and 5 as well as iPads 3 & 4. Ditched all Apple plugs and just used the white USB cables with this one. Bought three of these for home, office, and travel. Charges fast bc of the iPad-level amps. Of note, the black cable that comes with it might be a bit thick if you are using a case; but, again, apple cords work fine too.
