Motorola Phone tools 5.05 Cd new in Sleeve

I am so pleased with this tool. I have to manage 15-20 phones for our office and I can back up all of our contacts for each induvidual phone. It also allows us to avoid paying for data connection fees if we need to get pictures or videos of a job site off the phone. I did need to install a software update to get the program to work but I was aware of that from Motorollas site previous to purchase. This item arrived in new condition and before the announced schedule date: no problem. I searched Amazon.com's product listing for this data transfer application for a long time. I had the earlier version (4.5 or 4.0) which worked perfectly for a Motorola RAZR V3 flip phone. I thought it was lost so I thought I was purchasing the newer version which had enhanced abilities: wrong! I specifically spent an extraordinary amount of time to ensure getting the exact product for my phone and according to the specifications and advertisement, thought I found it: wrong, again!

Version 5.05 is for the newer smartphones from Motorola and not a RAZR V3. To me this is false advertising. I spent about $11.xx for nothing. I didn't want to spend more money to send it back which would have ended costing me more in total shipping than the price of the item itself. I cannot say whether or not the application is worth it because of the incompatible with the phone I have; so I have to leave my comments at that. But I will say this: be careful as to what the description indicates; I think its not so much Amazon itself but that the advertisers should be held accountable for truth in their advertising.

Well the disc I received was not 5.05 but Version 5. No worries mate....It tells you during set up that thier is an update feature built in when the Softwhare loads. Never got to that part ...nor did my MOTOROLA DROID EXCEPT THE SOFTWARE PORTION THAT LOADS THE PHONE. The software did load onto my computer (Windowa 7 Preium) all 64 Megs worth but showed it was loading on the phone and filled up the gas tank display which took 1/2 hour.

After that ....Na-Da.!!!!So I tried it on my XP Confuser with the same results, Nothing!!! After going into the PDF file on the disc and re-reading the install instructios I found a troubleshooting number for Motoroaland Phone Tools. After calling that number and punching in about 10 promts to thier Robot it told me that Phone tools will not work on the DROID.

Now Maybe I should have done my home work a little better...and Mybe Phone tools is an excellent product..but it doen't work on the Droid.. So be ware...I had gone to the Motorola site and saw Phone Tools there so I assumed it would work on my Droid.

It was my Bad for not checking.... not Amazon or the supplier but me. So read the fine print ...If you can find it..
