rooCASE Dual-Axis (Black) Leather Folio Case Cover for Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 N8000 N8010 - Suppor

rooCASE Dual-Axis Leather Folio Case Cover for Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 N8000 N8010 - Support Portrait / Landscape StandThe case for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is perfect. The manufacturer made cutouts for the power button, volume control, front speakers, face-forward camera and face sensor, rear camera and flash, RF and audio ports, 30-pin power/adapter port, and the stylus the speaker cutouts are perfectly sized so there is no sound loss. This case is very durable, looks sharp, and will definitely keep my tablet safe.

The tablet is housed in a smaller case that attaches to the main case via Velcro (the backing on the smaller case is a soft grey material and the outer case has a small area of Velcro that is used to join the two) so it is easy to detach and reattach to use either portrait or without the main case. Since Velcro is the joining material used and not a plastic swivel device like other case, this case is slim, flat on front and back, and is light. Construction is high quality, does not look cheap, and is stitched nicely; this is very well made.

I like the material used for the easel, it allows for a tremendous number of positions in landscape or portrait positions or for added friction grip when holding with an open hand. The only problem I have, and this is a very inconsequential issue, is getting the stylus out. The opening is a bit tight for my fat finger the fact that I bite my nails is part of the problem.

If you buy this case I am confident you will be happy. The only thing I would have liked is if it were purple.

I've had this case on my Note 10.1 for a couple weeks and find it mostly pretty good for my use.

PROS:

+ The ability to prop up hands free at just about any angle and rotation is great. That was one of the main selling points for me. This allows me to adjust to best view the app/document and minimizing reflections.

+ I often pull the inner case free when I'm just holding the tablet one handed rather than propped up. This makes it much lighter and less bulky to hold while still protecting the Note's somewhat flimsy back case.

+ The outer cover is very sturdy. I have no concerns about putting it in my bag.

+ Has good size cutouts on the inner sleeve for most ports. See con below for stylus.

+ The cover has magnets in at least three spots to help it stay closed.

+ I believe this cover is real leather (unlike another RooCase that is "vegan 'leather'" (aka pleather)) so it should wear very well.

CONS:

I find it a bit inconvenient to remove the stylus. There is a cutout along the bottom for it, but nothing along the back forcing me to slide my finger in between the case and the Note and try to catch the small indentation on the stylus to pull it out. I may cut out a better spot on the inner case sleeve to make it easier to remove the stylus.

As others have said, there is no cutout in the external case for the power supply. When I need to charge the note, I'll usually flip the tablet around 180 degrees in the case so that the charge port is to the outside. This might be a problem if you're trying to use the tablet while charging and the app doesn't like screen rotation. I think this is as much a problem with Samsung's placement of the charge port, as there is no good way to charge while using upright in any case.

DON'T CARES:

* The case is thick, over one inch with the Note inside; it is also a bit on the heavy side. I accept these as its the thickness that makes this a highly protective case AND one in which the tablet can be rotated.

* There was a strong smell the first few days after pulling it out of the package. I believe the smell is caused by the leather dye. The smell on mine has mostly gone away after a couple weeks.

SELLER:

+++ PC Micro Store is apparently having a hard time keeping these in stock. I ordered in early December, saw they were on backorder for around Dec 20th. About a week or so after ordering, saw that the ETA date had slipped a week or so. Around the 20th or so, PC Micro sent a "temporary and free" case to help ensure the protection of the tablet until they could get this one in my hands. I remember ever having such a pleasant experience with a seller going out of their way like that. I finally received this case during the first week of the year.

The shipment arrived in time. The case cover is nice and sturdy. The feel is good. It is little bulky and heavy. The tablet fits nicely in that cover. I tried it using it in portrait as well as landscape position and it worked fine.

The only issue I noted is with S-Pen. It is difficult to pull out S-Pen, once the tablet is in side the case. That is where I gave four star otherwise, I think I am happy with the product.

i can say that my galaxy note 10.1 fits perfectly inside the case.

the case is slim its not bulky at all. there are cut outs for every thing (speakers, headphone jack power, button, pen slot, ect) the magnetic closing allows it to stay closed with out any annoying elastic of some kind so there fore its easy to open and close. also the Velcro on the inside back of the case it self allows u to take off the device and turn it around for a different angle. there are many angles and all the angles are perfect for your needs. the elastic pen holder is great but i do not prefer it as there is a cut out for the pen.

the only thing i dont like about it is that since it is leather it adds a lil more weight to the device when u hold it to play a game or what ever. but this easily can be fixed by removing the device off the velcro then holding it. but i do find it annoying that i have to re attach it.

If you find yourself needing to dock your case in both portrait and landscape and don't want to always hold it, this case is really nice. It's a little on the bulky side, but it serves its purpose well. Having the ability to remove the inner sleeve (that's holding the tablet) from the rest of the case is nice and useful, especially when around the house. The inner sleeve could have been designed better (darker colors instead of the light grey), but it does protect all sides of the tablet well. The case itself is a bit on the 'stiff' side, but I imagine with some use it'll wear in a little bit and become a little more flexible. Everyone at my office carries Galaxy Note's and this case got a lot of compliments for its versatility, with most asking me where I bought it. I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to my needs, but don't let the 3-star fool you, this is a good case for the purpose it serves and you won't find too many others that offer the different mounting options while still offering good protection. I'd have given it a higher star rating if the leather was a little softer and if the case held the tablet with the power button/volume controls on the right instead of on the inside of the case (personal annoyance).
