I'll admit it. The Palm Slim Wallet Case is a little larger than Palm's Slim Leather Case (which was my previous Palm protectant). And the tongue loop, which is also a little longer and narrower, is also just a tad more cumbersome to use.But the case still holds my business cards and the doctor's appointment reminders for my kids; and its padded exterior still protects my Palm from possible bumps and bruises in case I drop it (which still happens on occasion, I hate to say).
The most significant improvement (in addition to the wallet feature), however, is that the attachment rail is now suspended from the case by a durable leather strip -which is much stronger than the flexible TPE rubber strip used on the slim leather case, which was always the first portion on this carrier to wear out.
But, best of all, the full-length (wallet-style) pocket -which is great for holding cash, checks or receipts -is virtually invisible (the two cases being almost indistinguishable from one another, except for the slight difference in size), so no one needs to know that my Palm case is also a billfold. I can now stash some extra cash -that is easily accessible, since my Palm is always with me -in a place where my wife won't discover it, particularly when she goes riffling through my wallet looking for lunch money for the kids. (Whew!)
The larger size of the wallet case (versus the slim case) does make for a slightly larger bulge in my front pocket when I carry it (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially for one's ego). But the convenience of having a little extra legal tender with me (hidden with my Palm) more than makes up for it.
As my new personal "teller machine," my Palm -esconced within my new slim wallet case -continues to become more and more versatile.

Finally, a case that really makes the Palm V really useful. Because the V is so slim, this case lets you maintain one wallet, rather than keeping track of both your organizer and your money (although the wallet is admittedly bulky).My one little pet peeve is that, because the Palm is taller than dollar bills, the money pocket is very deep, making retrieval in the checkout line a little difficult. If they constrained the depth of the dollar pocket, this product would be ideal.

This case is very similar to the Palm Slim Leather Case. The only difference is that it has an opening at top like a wallet for bills and such. Eveything else is the same. Its made of high quality leather and it a loop/strap design that i also liked. Velcro and the button proved that after prolonged use, it tends to rip. The loop/strap design secures the case very well and it still looks very elegant.However like many leather products, they tend to warp and deform after a while. Just think of your wallet and how deformed that can get after a few months. If your going to be putting it in your pocket a lot, i suggest you go with the hard case. However if your going to be putting it in a bag or brief case, then this case will be fine.
Although the case has slots for credit cards or business cards, realistically you wouldnt want to put more than two credit card and 3 business cards in it at one time. It does a lot to the bulkiness of the case. Personally I only carried 4 business cards in it at one time. Also how unpractical would be to pull out your palm every time you need to pull out money. This case is more suited for women i think.
Reatively speaking i wanted a case that was smaller then this one because it got a little too big for my pockets, whether it be the shirt or pant pocket. i found that not only was the hardcase by palm smaller and almost weighed as much, it also protected it just as well.
Also the fact that the powerbutton was often times turn on when using the leather case convinced me to change to the hard case.
Dont get me wrong. I really like this case. The hard case just fit my needs for a case a lot better then this one.
The best thing i can suggest is to try both of them out before you actually buy it. A lot of stores will let you try on the case. Thats really the best way to determine which one will really work for you.

The headset is NOT as small as the previous reviewer would have you believe. I compared it to my previous headset (the Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000) and found them to be almost the same exact size--in fact, this Saitek set seems to be a BIT wider on the head. This set doesn't press against the sides of my head as much as the Microsoft headset did, which is a huge positive.
The Saitek has three input plugs: one USB and two analog (one for mic and one for headphones). The USB is only necessary if you want to use the 5.1 surround feature; otherwise, for normal stereo listening you can just plug the analog plug into your headphone jack in your soundcard. What isn't made clear is the microphone connection--the microphone DOES work through the USB connection, so the analog plug for the mic is only necessary if you're using the stereo analog plug for the headphones (you can't listen in stereo through USB connection).
Installing on Windows Vista seemed smooth. I plugged the USB cord and Vista installed the headset without ever prompting for a disc or saying that correct drivers couldn't be found. However, just to be safe, I ended up using the included software and reinstalled.
Your experience might be different, but be warned that when the headset first installed on my system, the volume defaulted to maximum level--so do as the manual advises and press the Volume (-) button until the volume is all the way down...it'll save your ears.
First I tried listening to music using the headset through the USB connection. The music sounded very nice and crisp, and the bass sounds quite good for a headset. The sound configuration tool that gets placed in your system tray is moderately helpful--it allows you to choose different equalizer settings (the Soft-Rock preset sounded best to me) and the number of speaker channels you want to hear (2, 4, 6 or 8).
The fact that this headset boasts TRUE 5.1 surround sound (as opposed to virtual surround) was one of the reasons I was interested in this headset. To be honest, I don't hear a major difference between this 5.1 and virtual surround. The rear channels just sound dampened and softer as opposed to coming from behind. With mini-speakers placed in the headset earpieces, you'd think it would be more effective than that. However, since this headset didn't cost more than virtual surround headsets, I wasn't too upset.
The "removable boom microphone" is only decent. The sound quality is not nearly as good as the sound I had with my Microsoft LifeChat headset. In fact, I had a lot of trouble getting the microphone to work at all for awhile. I ended up disabling the microphone input from my default sound device (Soundblaster X-Fi card), which isn't an intuitive thing to do. Because the microphone is removable, it works through an analog plug connection, which is THE reason why the sound quality of the microphone is so poor compared to the all-digital LifeChat headset I had before.
Overall, this is a nice headset. Music and audio SOUND fantastic, but the microphone is sub-standard compared to all-digital headsets out there. Set-up seemed a bit more tedious than it should've been, and the included instructions are poor. The Saitek website has no support for this headset yet, so if you get frustrated, you'll probably be more likely to return this set than keep on trying to get support.

I ordered this headset in order to see if the reviews are as bad as they seem and I have to admit, they're on target as this headset was an extreme showdown.Saitek has lived up to its name as a low priced alternative to just about any external PC component like keyboards, audio devices, mice and such. It's also become synonymous with unreliable as they are cheap. As I received the package, I held it, shaking it briefly and lightly like a child at Christmas would when trying to determine its not-so eerie contents only to hear a super faint rattle. "Good!" I thought as I figured that was the sound of loosely packed manuals and other accessories.
I broke into a frenzy trying to find a reasonable way to open this box and opted for the usual box cutter. The tape soon fell as it was unable to defend itself from the onslaught of my brief and carefully made swipes. I soon unearthed the headset box from its Amazon container and lifted it. The packaging itself was partially falling apart, bent, and well held together by several upon several of those nameless clear sticker circles clearly designed to contain such a monstrous beast. Because of this I imagined my younger years when I tried to build everything with duct-tape, including a rocket and even a car wash to a car for those who were extremely pressed for time.
After I disengaged from reminiscing of my past I took apart the packaging until I was able to hold the headset in my sausage finger lined hands. As I traced over its refines like a set of mandibles attached to a millipede looking for a weak spot amongst it's prey, many thoughts filled my mind: Elegant, amazing, solid, magical, and awe-inspiring were far from the list. Instead I thought rickety, clunky, and that if I were to touch the wrong spot it would catch fire like the Ford Pinto when rear-ended.
Being a man of risk I put away my box of fears and whipped out its cabling. As I put the mic on I could hear a distinct rattling noise. It turns out something was loose in the right ear, tilting it one way made a dull cheap clacking noise when tilted fully on its side and then again when fully flipped to the other side, much like you would hear in the finest of Playskool science labs, designed to get children accustomed to the uncomfortably deep tissue massages you get for free when going through the TSA.
Eventually I slipped both ear pieces on.. or should I say Christmas ornament equipped audio mocking machines only to hear a dull off tone of magical mis-conveyance. The other ear, the one with the especially enhanced clacker sounded like the most extreme kazoo band trying to recreate the finest in Electro-Swing. This went on for a while, song by song until I had enough and was convinced that I was not man enough to handle this dangerous recluse.
Only one thing filled the destiny for that evening and that was to carefully, while highly intoxicated, put everything back together and return it with my condolences in hopes this headset can find a person of sheer steroidal-abuse manliness in order to fully enjoy such an extreme gaming experience.

If you're looking for a pair of headphones that will only last you a month and a half before breaking, then you should buy these.
These sit on my desk and stay in one spot plugged into my computer all the time. They haven't received any rough treatment. And I payed special care with this pair to remove them with both hands, as my previous Creative Labs HS-980 Fatal1ty Professional Series MKII Gaming Headset (Black) broke (after EIGHT months; NOT one and a half) on the wishbone ear support on the left.
Before I go on, let me say the sound quality is actually pretty good, the surround sound, while not as good as having actual speakers positioned around the room, is good, and the mike works absolutely great. This is the only reason I've given it two stars instead of one, as the build quality is extremely poor (read: absolute junk).
So, first, they broke on the left earphone pivot about a month after I got them. I super-glued it back together and went on with my life, slightly disappointed.
NOW, they've just broken (split) down the entire left headband sizing part. The plastic split apart from the top where the metal goes in ALL the way down to the bottom to just above where I super-glued it before. I've submitted a picture as well so you can see where it broke.
I might be able to superglue or wrap it in duck tape to fix it (yet again! edit: i superglued it, but now the left earphone doesn't swivel), but I should not have to. The sound part of the headphones is (at this time) still working well. Which, isn't very helpful if you can't wear them because they're in pieces.
If I could go back and do it all over again, I'd spend an extra $20 and get something else.

the Cyborg 5.1 USB headset is great, there are only 2 things I found annoying with it and that was that at the beginning there was a weird static sound, but I looked on google and saw that the settings had to be changed sometimes, so I played around with the different volumes and the static is now gone, and they do start to hurt the ears after about 5-6 hours of wearing them, but a quick repositioning will help with that. In the end its a great buy, the sound quality is amazing, and the program is easy to use and understand. Of course the best part is being able to rip out the mic when your raging and throw it across the room without damaging it since it is supposed to come out.I need something that I can put in my backpack and take on the road and not have it fall apart and this is not it.
If you are looking for a headset for home use, this might work, the sound was good, but if you plan to fold it up in its case, plan of replacing it in less than a month.

I would like to address some of the negative reviews. Yes, Instapark's product description as a do-it-all battery pack is confusing, perhaps even misleading. Indeed, I hesitated for MONTHS before finally buying this battery pack. Here's the key factor: This battery pack is primarily designed as a backup battery for your laptop; any other use is secondary at best. Other battery packs, such as one of the Ankers, are definitely better suited for charging gadgets. The Instapark, however, is best for laptops.
Bottom line: For laptops, get this Instapark! For gadgets, get an Anker or other alternative designed primarily for them. See my usage setup below as an example. I have two battery packs -don't expect any one battery pack to "do it all".
My set up is as follows:

Anker® Astro3 10000mAh Multi-voltage 5V / 9V / 12V 2A External Battery Pack. I travel to many places with occasional power outages. Whenever I use the USB 3 hub, I plug it into the Anker Astro3, and plug the Anker into the wall. IMPORTANT: The 7 port hub has a 12 Volt input, which works with this Anker. Most hubs are 5 Volts, and the connections to the spare battery pack do NOT work. Use this recommended combination for maximum reliability and functionality!
Instapark MP3450E 13,500 mAh External Battery Pack. I use this battery pack as backup for my laptop. The laptop battery lasts about 4 hours; the Instapark adds about another three to four hours of power. For even more juice, you can add a second battery to the Instapark pack, doubling the capacity to 27,000 mAh. I have not done this, simply because I don't need so much back up power and do not want to double the battery weight.
C. Crane US3 Super USB Wifi Antenna 3. Object of the current review. Long range, high power USB wifi antenna. When I stay in hotels, I normally choose the room farthest from the reception, and therefore farthest from the wifi router. This antenna makes fast wifi connection possible.
Tripp Lite U026-016 USB2.0 16-Feet Certified Active Extension Cable. This cable has a built-in signal amplifier, for best results with USB modems & wifi antennas.
Otherwise, I use a fast Microsoft mouse, with wired USB connection, and a portable Philips speaker.
I have been living in different places around the world for 17 years, and the above is what my mobile office suite has evolved into. My current abode is in a boat-only access area, with power outages more frequent than I'd like during the rainy season. I have reliable backups on all my data, in case of loss or damage. I have a 4G USB modem from the local phone company, which is powered from my notebook. I have about seven hours of power supply; so far, the most I've needed has been five... and everything worked like a charm.I had high hopes for this product, and was disappointed. For starters, the product is available from Instapark for less than Amazon's price (including shipping). I had already had the unit in hand, and didn't want to quabble over $15, so I was willing to overlook that. I did notify Amazon about the lower price I found.
No AC adapter is uncluded. You need to use some other power source (like your laptop AC power charger).
To charge this unit from a solar panel, you will probably need an additional cable. Instapark doesn't seem to offer any accesories (even though a 3-pin adapter is mentioned in the documentation).
With this unit, I also bought an Instapark 10W portable solar panel with USB outputs (THIS PRODUCT ROCKS!). I cannot charge this battery pack using their Solar panel because there is no USB to Type M Barrel cable included or available from Instapark.
The unit would charge from my wife's Dell laptop (Inspiron 15R) power supply, and power same laptop when the laptops internal battery warming indicated a low charge. Plugged this unit into the laptop, and it would run the laptop, although it would not charge the laptops internal battery. I could also charge the battery from my Dell 6510E power supply, but the laptop is looking for more amperage than this unit could provide, so that was almost enough reason for me to return it right then and there.
I could not get the unit to show full battery capacity on its LEDs, despite the charging indicator showing green to indicate the unit was fully charged.
The real deal breaker came later on last night when I wanted to make sure it would charge my iPad and iPhone. I plugged the Apple cable into the battery pack and the iPad, and... Nothing... I thought that maybe the cable was bad, so I tried another. Still... Nothing... I then tried the iPhone with both cables, and had the same results. I did notice, however, that when I depressed the battery power check button on the battery, the battery lights would illuminate and the device would start charging. When I released the button on the battery pack, and the lights would go out and the device would stop charging. Re-checked the documentation and found that the power on the USB port would not activate unless the DC out cable was inserted, and although not clear in the documentation, it also needed to have one of the tips plugged into the vacant end of the cable. In plain English, if you want the USB port to supply power, you must also plug in the DC OUT cable to activate the circuitry.
For backpacking and backcountry camping, this means carrying another cable and tip that I would not ordinarily use, except to activate the USB port on the unit (like a "key").
There is a male to female type A USB converter included. I have no idea what that would be used for, and there is nothing in the documentation to indicate what it would/could/should be used for.
The documentation was obviously written by someone whom learned English as a second/third language. I could piece together the meaning, but needed help from a couple of Google searches for MP3450E. This unit is manufactured in China and distributed my several different companies, ncluding Instapark.
For the price, the kludgy operation, and the poor documentation, I would not recommend this product.This batter is total junk! I bought it for a long trip I had to make overseas and now I'm past the 30-day return period. Here is a list of reasons NOT to buy this:
1. Does not come with its own charging cord. You have to borrow a cord from something else you already own, which is inconvenient to say the least.
2. In order to turn the battery on and charge a device, you have to plug in the 5V charging cord (included with the battery) AND attach a plug adapter to the end of it. So, instead of just one cord hanging out of the battery, you have two. It looks messy and makes no sense, unless you consider that this product is junk through and through.
3. I cannot achieve a full charge (according to the LED indicators). Even after I find a way to make this horrible thing accept power, it will not get to the fourth charge light. Instead, I get three out of four.
4. This one is the MOST IMPORTANT because it shows how low-quality this item is. In order for me to charge this unit, I have to refrigerate it so that the temperature is very low. When it is at room temperature, it will only accept charge for 3-4 minutes. I assume the electronics get hot and malfunction..? I don't know? But after charging an item, the battery is warm and even though it might be at 25% charge, the battery will not accept any charging. So I cool it down for several hours and then connect my charging cord. I have been able to get up to 1 hour and 15 minutes, but that still isn't a full charge.
NOTES:
After figuring out how to overcome the obstacles described above (the instructions are just about useless and, as another reviewer suggested, seem to have been written by a person with little knowledge of the English language), I was able to use the battery to see how well it would perform. My experiences show that it can charge a smartphone and give a decent (maybe 75%) charge to an iPad2. That is NOT what a 13,500 mAh battery should provide.
But, as I pointed out, I can't get a full charge, and I CAN'T RECHARGE IT WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR!!!!! So, if I'm traveling on a plane, for example, I get just one partial charge out of it before it becomes an expensive paper weight.
Basically, I got ripped off. When I get home I'll attempt to get a refund. I'll post again after I know whether they're willing to refund me based on what they already know that this product is HORRIBLE.

The battery tester--the button that tells you how much of a charge is left in the unit--doesn't work (at least on my unit), so I have any idea of how much of a charge is left. Second complaint: The directions for how to use the product--how to charge it, the use of all the connection items--are absolutely horrible, written (if you can call it that) by a total illiterate. But the battery seems to work okay. I found that it takes the better part of 12 hours to recharge it once it's drawn down, so give yourself plenty of time between uses.

I can't actually attest to how this item works. But the way Amazon grouped this battery pack together with the Instapark 10watt solar panel and offered a discount for the battery if you bought the panel made it seem as if the panel could charge the battery pack. It can't. The battery pack needs a 19volt charging source and is basically designed to be a pass-through battery for a notebook computer. It doesn't even come with a charger, instead relying on your computer brick to charge it. Others have reported that you can't even get 5 volts out of the USB port unless the higher voltage port is active, though I did not verify this for myself since it was not going to do what I needed it to.

Unfortunately, this item was the victim of disuse. It was excellent, then I upgraded the Clie's software and the smart tablet "forgot" about the keyboard. Despite numerous tries and patches, it was a goner. I soon moved onto a smartphone and the Sony items were mothballed.Easy on battery usage, spacious, very comfortable layout, yet still compact. I've used this system for years and have gotten great sound. I've also used higher-priced wireless systems, and to my ear, there is no difference. Also, this cheap little Azden system is still going strong after some of the other brands bit the dust.
I don't think wireless lav systems can get the great audio you get with a shotgun mic, a boom, and a sound person, but those things are just not in my budget.

Seriously, this is a great wireless lavalier. I borrowed the Azden WMS-PRO from my college and used it for about a week. I've used the Azden WMS-PRO Wireless Microphone System for more than one year now. I am overall very satisfied. I've used it almost exclusively to record audio for my Sony video camera. These videos either become casual demo videos for my work or I take the audio from the tapes to use for podcasts. The audio quality has been so high that I am able to use some recordings for future CD projects of storytelling and spoken word performances. I have high standards for my CD productions, so I was more than surprised to find such a high quality in this wireless system. I have also used the system to record onto my Video Ipod (via a separate-purchase plug in microphone attachment) where situations did not lend themselves to using a video camera.Battery life seems to be good. I do, as a matter of caution, put new 9v batteries in the mic and receiver whenever I am working on a project that is important. I've never had a dead battery during a performance, so we've managed to eke out at least three hours from a standard 9v battery set. I use the batteries I've taken out for other low-power 9v items and I am surprised how much power is left in them. I know that's not very technical, but this process of replacing batteries has played well for me and I have no concerns about the battery life for this Azden system.
Initially, due to the light plastic construction, I thought that these mics were just "toys." I resisted the urge to send them back to Amazon immediately and I am glad that I gave them a chance to work for me. The set has proven to be very durable after having crossed the USA in my carry on bags dozens of times. I'd buy them again if I needed an additional set. They moved from my "quick, cheap fix until I can get expensive mics" to my everyday sound system for my work. I can' t remember the last time I used just the video camera microphone for anything other than recording my children playing with the dogs.
The only problem I've ever had was using this set in a very large high-school auditorium. The sound cut out a few times, but only for a moment. The camera was at the farthest point possible from my place on the stage behind some 700 people. I have used the set in a similar situation with fewer bodies in the audience, so I am ready to believe that the number of people insulated the frequency for this particular event. I also noticed that the sound cut out when I turned quickly up stage or down stage. In those events where I have little movement, there has never been any sound loss at all.
I'd suggest this system to anyone who might want to try out the "next step" from their current on-camera microphone.

Bought this for the coach's comments while recording soccer games. As long as I am on the same side of the field, everything is ok. But, if I am on the other side of the field the signal is very noisy or not there at all. Much less than 300feet quoted in the specifications.This is close to the ideal situation, open field, no obstructions, outdoors.

Update: Seven months later with moderate use, the screen protector really hasn't changed at all (e.g. it's still working well). I do keep the tablet in a case as well. Also as the other reviews said, the camera cut-out circle is slightly off center, but this is just aesthetic and it does not impact picture quality at all. You can't see it in the camera.The fit isn't bad a little off on the camera cut out but over all not terrible. The mat finish reduces glare and prevents finger prints but distorts the sharpness of the display a bit.

The first one I received was DOA. It was replaced very quickly by Amazon.com, and the second one at least turned on. Screen as good as the NR series. Great readability, both indoors and outdoors.
Palm OS 5 haven't noticed much different from OS4 yet.
Built in apps Sony has made all of the built-in apps HiRes (320X480) for this unit, which is a big improvement from the NR series. The NX series also comes with a registered version of Documents To Go (standard edition), so right off the Clie installation CD, it is possible to sync and edit Word and Excel files right on the unit. Very nice.
Camera MUCH better than the NR70V. Still won't replace your standalone camera, but is very nice to be able to take halfway decent (640X480) shots with a PDA. Doesn't perform well in low-light situations.
Data Entry I can't imagine using the tiny keyboard for almost anything good thing graffiti is so good. On both the NX and NR series, the graffiti area is virtual (part of the actual screen), and they've made it so that it shows the ink as you draw the characters. Very nice.
Voice Recorder a nice little extra for meetings, etc.
Compatibility with older Palm OS programs better than I expected. I had a few that didn't run, but I would say 90% of the ones I was using do, with the exception of hack-type programs. Also, many developers have released, or are hard at work on OS5 compatible versions.
Battery life this is the only downside I've experienced so far. It's about as good as the NR series, as far as I can tell. Just as a test, I didn't charge it for a few days. I got 4 days worth of normal use (probably 1 1/2 to 2 hrs a day on average) out of it before it needed a charge. I might have been able to eke another day out of it, but I didn't want to take any chances.
Other Sony seems to have fixed the Memory Stick slot problem with the NX. I was experiencing drop-outs with my NR70, but have yet to have one with the NX. Also, speed launching apps, saving pics, etc. to the memory stick seems to be faster than the NR.
Haven't tried WiFi yet (my laptop has built-in wifi, so I haven't decided yet if I need it for an extra $150 in my PDA, too). I've also heard rumors that the CF slot will work with CF memory cards, if and when the memory card manufacturers write appropriate drivers. Don't know if this is so, but it would be very cool.
Personally, I love the clamshell design. Most of the time I use it in tablet mode, but being able to close it up is very nice, and saves the need for a case (at least as far as protecting the screen when not in use goes). It also has a very big WOW factor when you take it out and flip the screen around.
All in all, I have to give this unit a 5. I've owned PDAs from just about every generation of Palm (Pilot 5000, PalmPilot Pro, Palm III, Palm V, Visor Prism, Clie N760, Clie NR70, and now the NX), and this is unquestionably the best of the lot.

Summary: As you can see this product comes basically fully loaded. Yet, in my opinion the best feature is the built in keyboard. On previous PDA's to enter in information you either had to write in grafitti(which is the most annoying thing in world) or purchase an external keyboard, which is really expensive. Entering information into my Sony CLIE PEG-NX70V is so easy now, that I feel as if I have a computer right in the palm of my hand. The HOT-SYNC function on this product is the fastest and most reliable syncing that I have ever worked with. Because of the state of the art high resolution TFT screen with built in back-light, you can even look at your Sony CLIE PEG-NX70V in complete darkness or in extremely bright sunlight. There is no discoloration while using it while being outdoors. I don't suggest leaving it in the hot sun for long periods of time, though, because it will ruin the screen. I have not personally used the internet feature on my device, however, I have heard that it is the best wireless connection for any PDA. This PDA is so small that I can comfortably keep it in my pocket without any restriction in movement. All in all, I say that this product is miles ahead of any other product of its type!

I received the NX-70V for Christmas and I think it's an amazing device. Needing my PDA for medical school, I could have probably survived with a "bare bones" Sony Clie, but in the end I'm glad my parents sprung for the newest.First off, let me just say that the graphics are really incredible. I had seen other people with PDA's that had the lime green colored screens and knew I wanted a color screen. But I've seen other PDA's with color screens that aren't backlit and let me just say the difference between those and the backlit color screen on the Clie's is the difference between night and day.
The camera takes some surprisingly good pictures when the Clie is absolutely still. Even the slightest movement makes the picture a bit blurry, which makes for quite a challenge considering that pushing the "Capture" button requires a slight movement. But with the Clie sitting on a counter or using the timer to take pictures, I've gotten some good quality pics. And the movies are entertaining and help capture the "feel" of a past moment, but don't expect to relive it in too much detail :-).
The battery life is amazing. I took my Clie with me on vacation for MLK weekend and brought the charger along, but I never even needed to use it. That may not seem too impressive, but when considering that I used it to take multiple pictures, a couple movies, and listened to mp3's for part of the flights to and from North Carolina, it was hard to believe I still had some battery power left to spare.
As others have said, don't even believe for a second you can use this product to its full potential without a Memory Stick. But spring for the cheaper one if you can. I bought the SanDisk one and it holds mp3's, movies, pictures, and everything else the Clie put on it. (And this was despite the fact that the guy at CompUSA told me I was wasting my time buying the SanDisk because he GUARANTEED me I would need a special MagicGate MemoryStick. Shows how much they know.)
In summation, if you need a PDA, want lots of bells and whistles, and have extra cash to spend, I say spring for the NX-70V.

Sony is really on top of the PalmOS game. I replaced my Palm M515 with a Sony NX70V this weekend, and was quite impressed. The hi-res+ screen is incredible! I was able to download a movie trailer for Spiderman in widescreen format and watch it. I'm still tinkering with all the bells and whistles, but I was able to take still photos and video clips just minutes after I unwrapped it. The camera's resolution isn't the best, but I bought a PDA, not a digital camera. Since I keep my PDA handy most of the time, it's nice to know I can snap a picture or get a quick video clip in a hurry.The software I normally use doesn't begin to challenge the 200MHz processor, but some of the video apps may. I was very happy to see the difference the screen made with DocumentsToGo and Mapopolis. Much more useable, more readable. In SheetToGo, I can see more than 3 or 4 columns at a time!
The NX70 seems to access data from my 128MB memory stick faster than my old Palm M515 could read from an SD card. The Clie launcher takes a bit of getting used to, but it has its advantages, with quick buttons for your 8 favorite apps.
I looked briefly at the Tungsten T, which was almost as small as my M515. I'm glad I chose the Sony instead, as the virtual grafitti and virtual keyboard are much more practical to use, and that area can be used for the hi-res+ (320x480) video images. I don't have a use for the Tungsten's built in BlueTooth capability. The Sony's larger screen and built-in keyboard tipped the scales for me. I actually bought the NX60, w/o the built-in video camera, but I didn't even get out of the store before my wife convinced me (she didn't have to try very hard) that the built-in camera was worth the extra $$$ .
All in all, I am VERY VERY pleased with the Sony PEG-NX70V. I've spent the last few days trying to find new software to take advantage of its next generation of capabilities.
Data input is done through graffiti or the built-in keyboard. I found the keyboard somewhat useful for quick jobs, especially while I've been learning the weirder letters in "graffiti," but any time I had to do upper case, punctuation or numbers, it's a pain because there are odd key combinations or locations.
The audio player works well, but you really need additional memory, otherwise you're limited to one mp3. Memory expansion is through Sony's memory stick format, which is unfortunately limited to 128Mb (compared compact flash, which can go higher). There is an additional compact flash slot, but it only supports Sony's network card.
The camera is a novelty and, in my opinion, not worth the additional 100 bucks over the NX60 model. Pictures max out at 640x400 and require perfect lighting. Any movement and you get blur.
The remote control is truly cool and supports Sony and select non-Sony TVs, stereos, DVD players and VCRs. It was really easy to set this up to control my hodge-podge entertainment center with a 12-year old RCA TV and a 8-year old Magnavox VCR.
The biggest weakness is in the PC software supplied. The installation program is a demo sheild front-end, and presents you with over two dozen things you can install on the CLIE or your PC. It's really confusing and requires administrative priveleges on your Windows box -this presents some difficulty in an environment where my IT department has things locked down.
Installation of the core Palm desktop on Windows XP directed me to Sony's site for an unspecific patch that I never could find. (Indeed, finding software updates was at least a half dozen clicks away.)
After the Palm desktop was installed, I was faced with a laundry list of additional options, with no guide as to what was important. For example, a really important one: Windows XP also needed the memory stick driver operating so it would recognize the stick as removable storage when the Clie was connected. On the other hand, there was also a lot of clutter like "8 ways to relieve stress."

The videos recorded on this DVD (using DVD Studio Pro on Mac Pro) were less than perfect. On playback, there were random instances (about 12 or 15 in a 1+ hour movie) of small colored pixel groups flashed on the television screen which did not appear in the movie when it was created or played using Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro. I have burned movies to other brands of DVDs without this happening. The sound was not affected.
When I tried to print (using Acoustica CD/DVD Label Maker on HP DV6000 laptop) the Lightscribe label on these colored DVD disks, I kept getting error messages and a link to download an update for the Lightscribe driver from HP's web site. HP's web site stated to only use gold/bronze Lightscribe disks. Uh oh. The update was installed but did not solve the problem. At this point I was contemplating having to return the rainbow colored DVDs.
I went to Lightscribe's web site and downloaded their drivers. Problem solved. The Lightscribe labels printed without error and the print quality was excellent.
I can live with the small pixel groups flashing on the screen for this project, but some projects must have perfect video recordings, and I'm not sure this brand can deliver consistently in that regard.

First let me state that I have only tested out the Qumi with the iPad 2 and not the first generation iPad (though I am guessing the experience would be comparable). I wasn't originally sure if the Qumi would be a good fit for the iPad and I was a little hesitant to make the purchase. For iPad users like myself it appears worthwhile.
Projecting the iPad screen through the Qumi works well. The projection is absolutely crisp. For 300 Lumens the image is pleasantly bright for such a small projector. While you can easily see the projected image in a room with reading level ambient light, if you are going to watch a full length movie with the screen diagonal being something like 100 inches, it is definitely preferable to view the movie in a darkened room. In a darken room, the colors are absolutely vivid and vibrant. When I first watched a movie with the Qumi, I was a little dismayed that the colors were off (tan colored skin tones appeared unnaturally red). Only after watching the movie did I find that Qumi 2 allows for adjusting color and other settings such as keystone correction. The Qumi 2 has a number of preset options for color correction. This can be found under IMAGE --> DISPLAY MODE. I found that when I set the display mode to BRIGHT, the color tones in the projection almost perfectly matched the iPad screen. The second closest match for color was when the display mode was set to sRGB.
On the issue of the focusing mechanism for the Qumi I read a lot of reviews being critical about this. My impression is that in the Qumi Q2 the issue is overrated. I found that the focus mechanism on the side of the Qumi to be perfectly adequate. Many reviewers say that unit goes out of focus quickly (because of thermal expansion) and doesn't stabilize until the unit has been on a while. I did not notice this to be an issue at all. The unit I have is a Qumi "Q2" and I am suspecting it is a second generation product. In any case, I found that i did not have to play around with the focusing once I set it. Also, I found the projected image to be equally sharp on the center and the edges. Having said all these positive things about the focus, I do have a couple of issues. To focus the projected image you have to rotate a focus ring. This makes it hard to nail the sharpest possible image. A tiny nudge up or down on the ring and the image is still reasonably sharp. You don't quite know if the image is as crisp as it can be. My suggestion for the manufacturer (maybe it's included but I haven't found it yet) is that in the settings there should be some visual test pattern that makes it easy to discern when the focus is spot on.
The Qumi has several cables. I've only used the HDMI connector cable. There appears to be one for VGA and this "should" work with your iPad if you have the VGA adapter for the iPad. Because VGA is analog, I would not expect the image to be as sharp as it is through the HDMI connector. I have used the VGA adapter for the iPad with other LCD projectors and have been very happy with it, save one exception... if you want to watch movies downloaded to the iPad from the iTunes Store and project it, you are out of luck. A stupid DRM (Digital Rights Management) mechanism senses you are using a non-HDMI device and won't let the movie play. I say this is stupid, because you can download the same movie from the iTunes Store to your laptop, use a VGA connector and a plain old LCD projector to watch the movie. I was worried that the same DRM mechanism would interfere with watching movies using the Qumi in conjunction with the iPad. Fortunately it is not an issue. Let me be explicit... If you have the iPad 2, purchase the Apple Digital AV Adapter (Model No. A1388 which has a list price of $39), and connect it through the HDMI cable that comes with the Qumi Q2, you will have no trouble watching movies downloaded to the iPad from iTunes, and view it in High Definition with a full 1080p resolution. Now that you are happy about all this I have to let you know about a wrinke (which has nothing to do with the Qumi itself)... for some reason whenever I download a movie from the iTunes Store it seems to take forever for the movie to be downloaded (something like a couple of hours -by comparison, it takes maybe 10 or 20 minutes to download a typical movie over the same network from my laptop). I don't know why downloading to the iPad is so sluggish. My advice is if you want to want to watch movies using the Qumi as the projector and want to use the iPad instead of your laptop to hold the movie, you'd be well advised to do the downloading several hours in advance.
Regarding cables with the Qumi, they are a bit short. I wish they could be longer, but I did not find it to be an overriding problem. Interestingly enough, the Qumi comes with a pair of magnetic sheaths or isolators to attach to the ends of the cable. These limit electromagnetic interference. It's nice that they include it. But they only provide one pair (one for each end of the cable). On a more expensive cable these magnetic isolators would be built into the cable. I view this as a cost cutting measure. It's not a problem, it's just something to be aware of. As far as practical issues are concerned (on the topic of cables), the Apple Digital AV Adapter detaches to easily from the iPad (this is an Apple/iPad issue, not a Qumi issue). The slightest little jiggle, and the digital signal to the Qumi breaks and entirely disrupts the movie watching. So care must be taken to make sure that the iPad and it's adapter are not disturbed during movie watching.
After posting this review, another reviewer [Thanks Ticlar!] pointed out that the Qumi does have a tripod thread mount. Removing the tiny square sticker on the bottom of the unit reveals the tripod mount. :-)
When watching long running movies with the Qumi/iPad there can be issue that the iPad goes into a power save mode. The power save mode is when the iPad screen shuts off to conserve power after a certain amount of inactivity. Normally it is awakened if you do anything like tap the screen. When watching movies, the iPad can go into this power save mode (the timeout is based on your iPad settings which you can easily configure). This power save mode doesn't interfere with the movie projected by the Qumi. It continues to play even as the iPad enters the power save mode. When you want to pause the movie you would tap the Pause button on the iPad screen. When the iPad enters power save mode while watching the movie, it's screen goes blank and no amount of tapping the iPad screen wakes it up. My advice is that before watching your movie, change the iPad's power management settings (i believe this is in the General --> Auto-Lock timeout) so that timeout is set to Never. You can always change it back to your original settings after watching the movie.
One more comment about the Apple AV Digital Adapter... while you are using it to project your iPad screen on the Qumi, it's dual connector lets you simultaneously keep the iPad powered, so the batteries on the iPAd don't run down. My personal opinion is that powering it in this way adds one too many cables (but at least you are given options).
I should say a couple of more things about the Qumi. The top of the Qumi has touch controls for accessing the Qumi's menu options. Additionally, the Qumi comes with an (infrared) remote control. But in a darkened room it is very difficult to read and click the correct buttons on the remote control even though the buttons are slightly raised. The Qumi comes with a nice little travel pouch. The travel pouch only accommodates the Qumi unit itself. There is really no room for the full complement of cables, let alone the separate A/C adapter.
The Qumi Q2 does appear to be a solid quality product. I would not characterize it as very rugged. I think they cut corners to keep the price down (like the clip on magnetic sheaths, anemic built-in speakers, and poor documentation) but didn't drop the ball on important features.
Please understand that I have restricted this review to iPad users who are unsure if the Qumi Q2 plays nicely with the iPad. To address this it was necessary to take into account how the two are used together, and identify some of the gotchas along the way.
Bottom line: The Qumi Q2 does deliver near private theater quality viewing but be prepared for some initial fidgeting/configuring to make it work well. In this context I can safely say that I am satisfied with the purchase of the Qumi Q2 and would recommend it.

Let's just say I have own an Optoma HD65, due to the lamp and power outages around here, I've opted for an LG HX300(G). I was able to live with it fine and dandy but wanted something around 720p instead of 1080p. I don't need 1080p to live since most of the stuff I watch are from Netflix or YouTube. 720p is enough for HD quality and everything else that I do.Then I researched for more LED projectors and ran into LG HW300 and Qumi Q2. To be honest I would've gone with the LG HW300 for the DLNA so I could stream videos/musics easier without bunch of cables around my room and in my closet.
As for the Qumi Q2, the 300 lumens is enough for me. I can live with it since the LG HX300 is about the same but I would have to say the Q2 is slightly brighter. My only major gripe is having to buy adapters for my HDMI cable and component (still need to find an adapter for it). No accessories/adapters for other video inputs (for example the Wii).
The menu is really really basic. Can't calibrate much at all. Cannot change R, G, B to suit the situation. The presettings were ok. Brightness was way too saturated but not too bad for me.
Now for the good stuff, pixels are much more less noticeable when compared to the LG HW300, thanks to the increase pixels. Videos played nicely no stutter, no rainbow effect that I could notice, and the fan was not too bad (bad during silent scenes).
**One little trouble, I had a defective one prior to this review. The red led was broken or something because Mario's red under clothing was pure black. So did other images and videos where red didn't show up. Amazon was willing to replace it without any hassle. Thank you Amazon. Vivitek took awhile to respond but I took up on Amazon's offer because they were much more speedier in their replies.
Overall though, I am pleased with the product.
UpdateAfter using it for like 2 weeks. I'm actually getting quite frustrated with the projector. It appears that after shutting off the projector and turning it back on later, you are required to refocus again. If you are using it as a dedicated theater and mounted on the ceiling, you literally have to climb up every time, turn the focus wheel and not turn it off ever again. That's very inconvenient and a major flaw for me. I wish Vivitek would address something on this issue other than telling us to just refocus when it reaches operational temperature.
Update 8/27/11I'm beginning to notice the projector is not focused in some areas strangely enough. Like along the bottom right portion of the screen is blurred out and middle left. Apparently it's a common problem. Please buy at your own discretion. Dropped it to 3 stars.

So now I have the qumi for 4 days already. Its looks very nice & bright on a white wall. Qumi was connected via HDMI to Xbox 360
experienced super low barely noticeable audio from the stock qumi 1w speaker but you can connect your surround sound system and you are good to go
other than that the qumi is great & best Led Projector out there for the price

I've owned this projector for almost a week now, 6 days to be precise. Being a "portable" projector I must admit, I had fairly low expectations from the start. However, I must say that the projector has far exceeded my expectations. Currently I have it set up 11ft from a white block wall in my basement. It projects an image that is 110" diagonally. The picture is crisp running an Apple TV 2 @ 720p. The colors are vivid and bright. The white balance is great! Overall the picture is very nice. As for settings, it does lack in that department. Not a whole lot of settings, but enough to get the job done.I've noticed some people have commented on some flaws of the unit, and I'd like to explain what I've noticed and how to correct some.
1. "Greenish tint to the black and white areas" Check to see if you have the LED MODE set to ECO instead of Normal. The setting is located in the main menu under Installation II.
2. "I have to refocus it every time I turn it on" This projector has a warm up time before the lens get to the operating temperature. Typically I've ran into a 10-15 minute warm up time. Once it gets to this point, the setting you last had it at will be perfect again.
3. "Some parts of the screen won't focus and are blurry" Check the lens for fingerprints. I had a similar thing happen, and once I cleaned the lens it was fixed.
4. "It goes to sleep but doesn't wake up" I've noticed this and try as I may, I still haven't found a way to wake it up once it goes to sleep. So if anyone has, please comment!
5. "It only has a physical power switch and no power on the remote" This is true and like another user had commented, it gives the ability to toggle with a switched outlet. In terms of the remote, I also wish it has a power button; however, it's a rather basic remote and doesn't surprise me with the projectors hard switch.
6. "I need to buy new HDMI cables" It has a mini HDMI input on the back of the unit. It does come with a 1m Mini HDMI to HDMI cable. You can purchase HDMI to Mini HDMI adapters here on Amazon for under $5.00.
6. "I can't find a component cable for the Qumi" Unfortunately I can't confirm this, but I have heard you can contact Vivitek and they can send you one. Overall, I would definitely recommend this projector! It's not a "permanent" home theater projector, but it is a great projector for media hobbyists.

After the projector warms up it is not possible to get a clean focus top to bottom
or side to side,
A standard (TRRS) av cable will not work for composite video as A proprietary cable is
required and is not supplied at the moment. Also not supplied is a component cable

they will not give the pin outs for the mini av jack ( Tip sound, Ring sound, Ring ground,
Sleeve video )
It is hard to believe in the advertising about 720p as 720p blurred looks
like LDTV ( 240p ) looks OK if you are half blind
5 Star price for a 2 Star projector with focus problems
Because of the floating focus this negates the projectors great features
and makes it over priced by $150 to $200
Don't get me wrong this is a nice tech toy but for $499 it should have
A uniformed focus, It's one of only two jobs A projector has to do.
In today's economy I try to get the best value for my hard earned cash and have
become more critical of products that struggle to keep up with the brand Name and message.
Wait six months to a year the market will be flooded with similar devices at
the right price point.
